Meet baby Krishna!

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi just gave birth to her daughter on Feb. 20 – and already mother and daughter are hitting the town. On Thursday, the two were photographed on a New York bench. Next stop, Le Bernardin?

Lakshmi, 39, has not identified her 3-week-old daughter's father. But a friend of the TV host told PEOPLE just before Krishna's birth that Lakshmi was ready for motherhood. "Padma is very happy. She's wanted to be a mom for a long time. She was very relieved and happy when she got pregnant."

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi knows good food – even if that means good baby food. We caught the gorgeous mom lunching with six-month-old baby daughter Krishna Thea on a sunny afternoon in New York City. The baby was cloaked in a cozy looking cream colored blanket and matching knit hat.
Padma and Krishna were chowing down (or rather gumming and slurping in Krishna’s case) at Bar Pitti in the West Village. We don’t know if Padma noticed, but that baby is damn close to that glass of red wine. In fact it looks like she’s sorta leaning into it in the first photo.

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi took her baby daughter Krishna out for lunch in New York yesterday amid an increasingly bitter custody battle.
Dressed all in black, the former supermodel carried her 11-month-old baby in a pouch as her male companion held the leftovers.
The trio visited Indian restaurant Kalustyans in the Little India area of the Big Apple.

So sweet!

The Top Chef host, 40, describes motherhood as “such a primal feeling — it’s so deep and intense.”
“Everything is better with her around,” she adds. “Anything from the beginning of the day till the end.”
